This white paper examines how social enterprises in Malaysia actually experience scaling, drawing on a survey of 53 respondents and interviews with 15 founders. Rather than applying a conventional growth lens, it explores how founders define scaling, the financial and capacity constraints they face, and how wellbeing intersects with ambition. The findings point to a need for ecosystem support that better fits the diverse paths social enterprises take toward impact.
